Seamless steel pipe manufacturing process:Seamless steel pipes are usually produced by hot rolling or cold drawing processes. The production process of hot-rolled seamless steel pipe includes: tube blank → heating → perforation → three-roll/inclined continuous rolling → tube stripping → sizing → cooling → straightening → hydraulic test → marking → detection. The production process of cold-drawn seamless steel pipe is as follows: tube blank → heating → perforation → heading → annealing → pickling → oiling → multiple cold drawing → Blank tube → heat treatment → straightening → water pressure test → marking → storage.
Heat treatment of welded steel pipe:For Class B resistance welding nominal pipes, heat treatment at a minimum temperature of 1000 ° F (540 ° C) should be performed after weld welding to eliminate residual tempered martensite.
Mechanical properties: The heat treatment process will affect the tensile strength, yield strength and ductility of the steel pipe. Local heating and cooling during the welding process can create residual stress in the solder joint and the heat affected zone, resulting in changes in the microstructure of the welding area, especially the heat affected zone (HAZ).
Seamless steel pipe performance: ASTM A53 Type S (seamless steel pipe) has a tensile strength of 415 mpa, a yield strength of 240 mpa, and a ductility of 20%. It has good impact toughness and is suitable for aerospace, high temperature furnace tubes and other occasions requiring high mechanical properties.
Welded steel pipe performance: ASTM A53 Type E (resistance welded pipe) tensile strength of 400 mpa, yield strength of 230 mpa, ductility of 18%. Medium impact toughness, although the mechanical properties are slightly lower than seamless pipe, but cost-effective, suitable for low to medium pressure environment applications.
